DESCRIPTION
This limited-release coffee is grown at over 5,000 feet in the mountains of Western Colombia, where the elevation and topography create perfect conditions for coffee cultivation. The area in which the coffee is grown is dedicated to organic cultivation and is home to over 100 species of trees, shrubs and palms growing alongside the coffee plants.
Colombia is known for its sweet, well-balanced coffees and this little gem is no exception, featuring bright notes of cinnamon, toffee and toast together with a honeyed aroma and clean finish.
The Fair Trade co-op that produces the coffee teaches its members organic production methods, crop diversification, soil conservation, and shade grown farming techniques. Fair Trade premiums are also used to pay annual costs of organic inspections and improvements to coffee processing methods.
This coffee is Fair Trade Certified by IMO, Organic Certified by the Washington State Department of Agriculture and grown in shaded conditions by small farmer cooperatives. In addition, the complete carbon footprint (from crop to cup) for this coffee has been offset with tree planting, which qualifies it as a CarbonFree Certified product by CarbonFund.org.
All of our coffee is roasted to order and shipped fresh daily. We package in air-tight, foil-lined bags with one-way degassing valves to preserve freshness.
